The SBCMEA is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the cause of music at all levels of education throughout San Bernardino County, the largest county in the nation. The SBCMEA, in collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools San Bernardino County, offers many programs to engage young musicians in almost every aspect of music making. These include: choral festivals at the elementary, junior high and high school levels; honor string orchestras; honor bands in the high desert and basin areas; and a solo competition in vocal and instrumental music for all three grade levels.
