AUDITION DATE: Saturday, December 2, 2023
AUDITION TIME SLOTS: Times of auditions are e-mailed to directors.
AUDITION LOCATION: Mesa View Middle School, 800 Mustang Way, Calimesa, CA 92320, USA

1. On your banking website or app, click "Send money with Zelle."
2. Add or select recipient. Search "[email protected]" and it should come up as SBCMEA.
3. Select the exact payment amount. For fees, it is $10 per audition
4. IMPORTANT: In the "Memo (Optional)" field, please indicate your school and which honor group/event.
5. Review and send.
6. SBCMEA is notified.

AUDITION EXPECTATIONS
1. Students will be asked to play the 2 major scales included in the audition music. If a scale is 2 octaves, students can opt to play it 1 octave for a reduced score.
2. Chromatic scale demonstrating the student’s range. Written scales will be provided with the audition music, but students may play a more limited range (this will affect their score). Students can attempt to play beyond the written range.
Audition Music:
Music is posted below. Please stress the importance of the prepared pieces as they are weighted heavier than the other categories.
Sightreading:
Students will be asked to sight-read an excerpt of music selected by the adjudicator.

REDLANDS USD and COLTON JUSD STUDENTS: Make sure you are not signed into your district provided Google account if you attempt to view these files. Their permissions prevent access to outside attachments like these while signed in.
